While many celebrities had a rough patch amid the pandemic, Selena Gomez had scored a top position in her career in 2020. According to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, the 28-year-old singer was on Hot 100 No. 1 for the first time at the end of last year with Lose You To Love Me, while in early 2020, Rare turned out to be her third number one album that earned 703,000 equivalent units.

In an interview, the singer and songwriter revealed that it feels bittersweet to her as she wanted the entire world to be better. However, she noted that it is amazing to learn that her music could help some people to enjoy during the difficult times of their life.

Besides Rare, she also launched another music track in the same year, Dance Again. The funds collected through the music video helped the COVID-19 Relief Fund through MusiCares. In fact, a couple of months ago, the singer also started her own cooking show on HBO Max named Selena + Chef.

Gomez has been highly productive in the entire year as she launched her cosmetics line called Rare Beauty. Moreover, she made an appearance in the Ice Cream music video as collaborated with the Blackpink girl group. She also became an investor in Serendipity that sells frozen treats.

“Blackpink is an incredible group, and their album is awesome, and I thought it would be so fun to step into a whole different world, so it was a no-brainer. It was very different from any music I’ve done, but that was the point," she explained.

Gomez spoke about the K-Pop group and noted that it felt great to bring the culture of a dominant girl group in the United States. The singer took Instagram to thank Billboard for featuring her on the No. 1s Issue of their magazine, including John Janick, Dabby, and Billie Eilish.

The Disney star shared two pictures in the post, including her close-up shot. She wrote in the caption that Interscope Records had earned labels for the year. She praised Janick for his work and said that she is extremely proud and excited for his company.

Moreover, she noted that singing with the 42-year-old CEO of Interscope Records turned out to be one of the best decisions of her life. In fact, the singer is ready to treat her fans in 2021 with the second season of Selena + Chef, a Spanish-language album, and Only Murders in the Building, which will be a new series on the Hulu platform.
