American comedian and TV personality Whoopi Goldberg is to the rescue for Tom Cruise after the veteran icon was reported to have shown misconduct [?] on the set of Mission Impossible 7.

Not misconduct at all

The 58-year-old actor erupted on the set of his upcoming movie, where he screamed at two staff members on location due to neglecting to follow COVID-19 protocols. With that, the comedian and EGOT-winner came to defend Tom on the matter.

On The View, Whoopi said, “Some people don’t understand why he’d get so angry. I get it.” And as reported by Hollywood Life, she continued, “You know, that’s his movie. And if he goes down with COVID, the movie’s done.”

If worse things happen, Whoopi explained that if Tom gets infected by the virus, he would surely be in the hospital for around five to six weeks, making the production be halted. However, if the operation opts to continue, there will never be another Tom Cruise, as she said.

Moreover, despite the number of people who ridiculed Tom for doing such an act, Whoopi decided not to be one of them. Whoopi further explained on The View that Tom got very angry because some people don’t understand cases and scenarios. No matter how vital the crews are to the production, Tom is the star of the movie, and that the operation cannot move forward without him, per Decider.

Whoopi Goldberg siding with Tom Cruise leads to a heated topic

As the conversation of Whoopi and other folks on The View gets more heated, Sara Haines blurted out that no one has the right to speak like how Tom did to the crews to adults and that no one should tolerate that kind of behavior.

Sara further shared that the actor has gone over the top to address what needs to be, but she could not agree that Tom has points for doing that.

However, Sunny Hostin and Joy Behar came to side with Whoopi, saying they strongly believe Tom did the right thing and that everything is justified.

Joy exclaimed that she understand how Tom reacted, considering millions have passed due to the virus—and Tom strongly does not want to be one! On the other hand, Sunny sees Tom’s reaction as HR-worthy and abusive, but he understood why the actor acted that way in the long run.

When talking about the curses, Tom yelled out to the crews' faces; Sunny thinks Tom might get away with that. The rage and anger the actor felt is a notion that people feel during a pandemic.
