There is no denying that Shia LaBeouf is among the most sought-after leading men of his generation. In fact, the 34-year-old American actor has garnered a huge fan base after starring in various top-grossing movies such as Transformers, Fury, The Peanut Butter Falcon, and Honey Boy, among others. However, along with his popularity, the Hollywood star has also faced his fair share of controversies, including FKA Twigs’ sexual misconduct allegations.

FKA Twigs accused Shia LaBeouf of sexually assault

Many fans were shocked when FKA Twigs sued Shia LeBeouf for infliction of emotional distress, sexual battery, and assault. The former girlfriend of Robert Pattinson claimed that The Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps star threatened to crash his own car unless she admits that she loves him.

When Shia LaBeouf pulled over, FKA Twigs took her things from the compartment and tried to leave. However, the Disturbia actor, allegedly, followed and threw her against the vehicle while he screamed in her face.  The “cellophane” singer even stated in her lawsuit that Shia choked her while she was asleep.

FKA Twigs, also, claimed that Shia LaBeouf hid his STD from her. After several months of being together, the “home with you” hitmaker, reportedly, developed symptoms and was diagnosed with the same STD. Aside from FKA, another woman, as per Celebrity Insider, had the same claim.

In an interview, FKA Twigs explained she needed to come forward to let other people know that even a multi-awarded actor with money, a luxurious lifestyle, and a huge fan base could still do something like what she experienced. The “holy terrain” singer said she wants to raise awareness of the possible ways abusers use to manipulate their victims.

Shia LaBeouf responds to FKA Twigs’ allegations

Meanwhile, in an email he sent to The New York Times as a retort to the allegations, Shia LaBeouf said he could not say anything right now. However, The Tax Collector star admitted that he has been abusive to himself and to the people surrounding him over the years. Shia said he has a history of hurting the very people he loves, and he is “ashamed” and “sorry” for what he had done in the past.

Though Shia LaBeouf claimed that many of the accusations are not true, the Holes actor said he wants to give women their freedom to say whatever they want to say, adding that he accepts accountability for those things he had done. He even shared that he is committed to doing anything he needs to recover from alcoholism and PTSD.
