Mads Mikkelsen is one of the rare gems in Hollywood who have worked on several projects such as Casino Royale, Doctor Strange, and Hannibal. The 55-year-old actor opened up about Another Round that revolves around a bunch of school teachers who are curious to learn if human life can be upgraded if it is spent the entire day being tipsy.

However, things don’t go as per their plan, but this drama-comedy can't be titled as an anti-drinking story. While the film promises something new for the American audiences, Mikkelsen revealed how he pretended to be drunk than actually drinking on the sets.

Moreover, the actor also reflected on making headlines for replacing Johnny Depp on Fantastic Beasts 3. Firstly, the actor noted that he met the director Thomas Vinterberg for a movie, The Hunt, released in 2012.

Mikkelsen admitted that it was one of his best working experiences while he praised Vinterberg for being a wonderful human being. The actor noted that they soon became friends, and that was the reason for saying yes to his movie.

Although the actor revealed that after reading the script, he loved it. He further said that the story had been written beautifully while it embraces life quite well, even during a difficult time. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor was questioned about his different intoxication levels in the movie.

The actor noted that it is one of the most frequently asked questions, and he finds it valid enough to ask. The actor said that in the early stage of filming, everyone decided that they won't drink for real to shoot the scenes. Mikkelsen further explained that there are numerous reasons for the same.

Mikkelsen recalled that the script demanded the actors to act half-drunk, and doing that for 16 hours a day will have a bad impact on their health. Secondly, the actors will find it difficult to communicate with one another after being drunk.

Lastly, there are many scenes after drunk scenes that requires driving a car, which is again not recommendable. The actor revealed there were many rehearsals before they actually went ahead to shoot.

Considering his role in the Fantastic Beasts series, the actor said that creators need to create a bridge between the previous version of the character portrayed by Depp and the way he is going to play it. The actor admitted that both versions couldn't be detached from one another.
