An outlet has been trying to sell its readers that actress Lori Loughlin has already been convicted and is going to jail for 10 years. However, it is a completely false rumor according to some sources.

It was around a year ago when Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli, her husband were arrested for committing fraud. The couple has been charged for being a part of a scandal related to college admissions bribery.

Thereafter, a string of imaginary and false claims started doing rounds about this controversy. Life & Style is one such tabloid that has also published a story about the couple with a headline: “Lori Going To Jail For 10 Years?”

The headline is quite eye-catching and suggests that the actress’s long sentence has been already declared by the court. However, the content of the same article is in sharp contradiction to the headline.

The body mentions: “heard from her legal team that she could spend 10 years in prison.” They allegedly got the news after Lori Loughlin’s recent effort to get her charges dropped.

A dubious insider allegedly told the outlet that her attempt has “backfired in a big way.” The same source added that Loughlin’s “world has been turned upside down.”

Meanwhile, it was reported that actress Felicity Huffman’s name got also included in the scandal. However, she pleaded guilty of the charge and had to serve only 11 days in jail.

Gossip Cop has found the article strange, to say the least. The publication has said that when her husband also faces the same charges, why did the legal team only give this information to the actress but not to Mossimo Giannulli?

More importantly, there have been several reports that indicate that the charges brought against the actress in October last year are so severe that she can be imprisoned for up to 50 years if proven guilty. So, why is the tabloid suggesting that she is being sentenced only for a decade when the actual highest sentence is much higher?

It is imperative to note that the couple’s trial is yet to start and is slated for October. However, this has not discouraged some publications from hypothesizing about the actress’s possible prison time.

Meanwhile, Deseret News has already reported that Loughlin and her husband have been charged for paying 500,000 USD in bribes to make sure that their two daughters could become crew recruits at the University of Southern California. However, they have pleaded not guilty in the court.

Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli will have their trial in Boston in October this year. Their defense team has mentioned that the couple felt that they were making donations and not offering bribes.
