The relationship between Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green has long been deteriorating in the public eye, and now Fox is looking to formalize their separation as she files for divorce from Green.

People reports that the 34-year-old Fox filed for divorce on Wednesday, just a few days before she arrived as Machine Gun Kelly’s date at the American Music Awards. Green has also reportedly responded to the filing.

As noted by the publication, this is not the first time that Fox has filed for divorce from the 47-year-old Green. Back in 2015, Fox filed for divorce after five years of marriage with Green and with a third child along the way. However, the couple eventually reconciled a year later.

TMZ has more details on both Fox’s filing and Green’s responses to its contents. According to the outlet, Green intends to discuss spousal support, while neither he or Fox have stated what the plan is with regards to child support.

Fox and Green also seem to disagree as to when exactly their marriage fell apart. Green said that they were together until Mar. 5, 2020, while Fox claimed that they were already split up by November 2019.

The divorce filing comes after Fox very publicly berated Green about his parenting skills on his Instagram account and after declaring in an interview that her relationship with new boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly is “mythic.”

Fox had berated Green on his Instagram account right after Halloween after he posted a picture of himself with their son, Journey River. Fox alleged that Green did this so as to paint her as the negligent mother in their relationship. She also emphasized that she did not feel the need to post an image of her child on social media despite also having a good time with him during Halloween.

After the comment caught media attention, Green deleted the image and reposted another one with their child cropped out. He, reportedly, made the change as he wanted to keep his relationship with Fox civil, especially since it took a lot of time for it to reach that point.

As to her new partner, Machine Gun Kelly, Fox had much nicer words to say. She described the relationship as something elemental like a tsunami and declared that she had no choice but to surrender to the intensity of their feelings for each other.

Fox and Kelly first met each other on the set of the film Midnight in the Switchgrass, where they both have starring roles. Once shooting for the film was suspended due to the global coronavirus pandemic, Fox and Kelly spent their time in quarantine together, starting rumors that they were in a relationship.
