Ben Affleck’s struggle with Alcoholism has been a well-documented event in his life. The ‘Batman’ actor has been open about his addiction problem and has often spoken about the negative impact it had on his life.

But so many people have asked the actor about any drug use in his life. The actor shared his story on drugs in the newly published book ‘Alright, Alright, Alright: The Oral History of Richard Linklater’s Dazed and Confused.’

Affleck shares the story of the first time he tried drugs. At 15, the young Affleck smoked marijuana for the first time, and he apparently had a dissociative panic attack.

Later on, he explains that he does not like marijuana due to the past events he experienced and that working on the set of the movie ‘Dazed and Confused’ was very hard.

Affleck’s role in the movie was small, but apparently, all of his co-stars were drinking and drugged up during the shoot. He confessed that they tried to lure him into smoking marijuana with them.

As for his drinking problems, Affleck remains truthful about it, sharing that it only became a ‘problem’ later on in life.

“I also wasn’t a very heavy drinker then, I became an alcoholic much much later and I’m in recovery now, so that was a whole different time. I was a little nervous, like, should we be drinking before we’re working tomorrow?” He shared.

The actor also mentioned the activities he and his ‘Dazed and Confused’ co-star would get up to in the weekends during the filming of the movie, which was set in Texas.

He reveals that many of them bought guns in Texas and would go shooting every weekend, explaining that most of them come from States that had strict gun laws, and Texas had the exact opposite.

The 48-year-old star acknowledges that it was not the smartest idea, as he has become well aware of how guns have become a big problem in America. He says in the book that it makes him ‘uncomfortable’ to remember.

‘Dazed and Confused’ has become one of America’s favorite cult films. The ‘Fargo’ star was only 20 when he acted in the film, which also starred then-unknown actors, such as Matthew McConaughey, Parker Posey, Anthony Rapp, Adam Goldberg and Milla Jovovich.

The book ‘Alright, Alright, Alright: The Oral History of Richard Linklater’s Dazed and Confused’ also features other behind the scene stories from McConaughey and other cast members.
