Johnny Depp has been under the spotlight ever since his libel suit against The Sun magazine had started. Now that he has lost the trial, a certain tabloid claims that he could be in deep trouble and might soon be hitting bankruptcy.

However, it does not mean that the actor does not have his share of supporters. For instance, Victoria Mary Clarke, wife of Shane MacGowan, has come forward in support of the Pirates of the Caribbean star. She voiced her support after he was defeated in his high-profile libel lawsuit.

The 54-year-old Irish journalist took to her Instagram page to share a set of touching posts. She called the star a “gentle soul” in one of the posts. She added that her respect for the actor stems from the fact that he has been so nice to the people around him.

The journalist also mentioned how “respectful” the actor is to people though he was abused while growing up. Yet, he is forgiving and compassionate and brings happiness to people he comes in touch with, according to Clarke.

The 57-year-old actor had initiated legal action against The Sun magazine for referring to him as a “wife-beater.” The Professor star had a stormy yet short and turbulent marriage to actress Amber Heard who accused him of abusing her physically. However, the High Court dismissed the claim of the actor.

While Johnny Depp had admitted that he had problems related to alcohol and drugs, he refused to accept the charges of being violent towards his former wife. The Sun had claimed that he was abusing Heard and Depp had filed a libel case to defend his reputation.

Soon after the ruling went against him, the Black Mass star declared that he would stop being a part of the Fantastic Beasts franchise any more. The actor was portraying the role of Gellert Grindelwald in the film franchise. Several fans of his were shocked after the actor made this announcement on Nov.6, 2020. They were worried about why he took such an extreme step (via Republic World).

A magazine insisted that he was in a financial mess after being defeated in the libel suit against The Sun. it further claimed that the star was head over heels in debt. It has hinted he is up to his ears in debt because of the current legal mess and can even hit bankruptcy.

It seems the actor had no idea that the libel suit would cost him so much. According to an unnamed insider, he had a huge budget, but it all vanished after settling the court expenses and lawyers’ fees.

However, though Johnny Depp may not be seen in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, that does not mean he did not get his entire paycheck. While he could be in a mess right now, it does not mean he has lost all his money and will be broke soon, contrary to what the magazine insinuated (via Gossip Cop).
