The story of Princess Diana’s life with Prince Charles is extremely saddening. The young royal who had a bright future ahead of her got pulled into the royal firm at a very young age.

Becoming the wife of the next sovereign of England, Princess Diana showed strength and firmness in her public appearances, but behind the closed palace doors, her marriage with Prince Charles was simply falling apart.

This has made their lives unbearable and apparently had a profound effect on their two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.

Royal author and historian Robert Lacey explores the story of Princess Diana and Prince Charles's constant bickering in his new book ‘Battle of Brothers’ and how Prince William once stood up to his father.

Lacey reveals that young Prince William once got into a fight with Prince Charles after he witnesses Diana crying several times to the point where William said he ‘hated’ his father.

"I hate you, Papa. I hate you so much. Why do you make Mummy cry all the time?" Cried out Prince William to Charles in one of their encounters.

In Princess Diana’s Panorama interview, the royal discussed her marriage breaking apart due to Camilla Parker-Bowles' constant presence in the life of Prince Charles.

MarieClaire writes that everything changed in the family for this very reason, but it was inevitable for the Princes to ask some questions themselves.

In the interview, Diana expresses that William once asked her for a reason for their divorce, of which the Duchess answered ‘because there were three of us in the marriage.’

There have been many instances that William and Charles had rumored fights during his and Diana’s marriage. The children, according to insiders, have always defended their mother from Charles.

Both Prince Harry and William put a lot of stress on the teaching of their late mother. William, who is happily married to Kate Middleton, has proven that he is following his mother’s advice on love, the same as Prince Harry.

Princess Diana’s passing in 1997 created great grief in the royal family and it showed that the public loved Diana more than they love the royal family, but up until her death, there were still several rumors of Charles hating her.

Prince William and Prince Charles's relationship is, without a doubt, imperfect, but the two royals have set aside their difference for the greater good of the royal family.
