Micheline Roquebrune reflected on the last couple of years of Sean Connery's life and how difficult it was for her late husband to deal with dementia. Roquebrune married the James Bond actor in 1975 and revealed how the symptoms of dementia appeared till his last moment.

The 91-year-old French-Moroccan artist disclosed that her husband battled the condition, who passed away while sleeping on Oct. 31. Roquebrune said there was no life left in him as dementia took a toll on the late actor.

She admitted that Connery wasn't able to express himself in the later years of his life. However, she acknowledged that the actor died as per his last wish of not creating a fuss. Roquebrune further said that he passed away peacefully in his sleep.

Roquebrune confirmed that she kept him accompanied till his last breath while he just "slipped away." She further said that this is what he always wanted to happen. Since the legendary actor died, tributes are pouring from every part of the entertainment industry.

James Bond franchise producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson shared a statement on Twitter through the franchise’s official handle and said their condolences. They confessed feeling devastated with the news and addressed Connery as "Sir."

They said that the actor will always be in the memories as the "original James Bond," who said the iconic line of "The name's Bond, James Bond." The statement further praised the late actor's portrayal as a secret agent and having a charismatic, witty style of delivering dialogues.

Connery was born in a working-class family in 1930 as Thomas Sean Connery and joined the navy at the age of 16. As per the NME obituary, the actor first worked as a lifeguard, coffin polisher, and also the artist's model. The late actor had also competed in bodybuilding competitions and became popular as "Edinburgh hard man."

Connery worked backstage at King’s Theatre that eventually inspired him to become an actor. He toured in 1953 for South Pacific, a Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, and later got roles in television, theatre, and also a junior artist in movies until he was offered roles in Darby O’Gill And The Little People in 1958 and Another Time, Another Place in 1959.
