A magazine reported around a year ago that Miley Cyrus had to go to a rehab center as she could not stay away from social media and got addicted to it.

It was around a year ago when a report claimed that the songstress friends feared for her well-being after her divorce from Liam Hemsworth. The report further insisted that while her loved ones were worried about her, her management asked her to check into rehab so that her career did not get damaged.

The outlet also referred to a live video on Cyrus’s Instagram page where she referred to her former husband as the only good guy she has come across.

What was surprising was that her relationships with Cody Simpson, an Australian singer, and Kaitlynn Carter were referred to as signs of the singer having a mental “breakdown.” She faced criticism from the LGBTQ community after remarking that a woman needs not be gay to find a good guy.

Cyrus was quick to defend herself  (via ABC News), yet the tabloid claimed that she was told to seek professional help as it was becoming tough for her to avoid social media. The report claimed that the songstress was excessively addicted to seeking attention.

However, the narrative about the singer appeared to be incorrect. A person close to the singer said the story was made up, Gossip Cop reports. The verdict remains incorrect even today.

In case she really has a social media obsession and checked in at a rehab for treatment, other reputable magazines would have definitely covered the story. Miley Cyrus has never shirked from discussing her battle against drug abuse in the past.

Cyrus spoke to Variety in June this year, where she narrated her path to sobriety. She said it was all about her vocal surgery in the beginning. However, she started introspecting a lot about her mother, who was adopted.

The songstress feels she inherited the same abandonment feelings her mother went through. She feels understanding the past has been great therapy for her.

The magazine that published Cyrus’s rehab story has also published other false reports on the singer. The outlet had contended at the beginning of this year that the songstress was still besotted with her former husband, Hemsworth.

However, Cyrus was in a relationship with Cody Simpson then. So, the mere idea of her obsession with her former spouse appears to be false.

There was another report on Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus getting secretly married around two years ago. In reality, though, they did not tie the knot at that point in time. The duo got married in December 2018.
