Sarah Ferguson recently shared a thank you message on Instagram after celebrating her 61st birthday. And eagle-eyed netizens noticed how frail and stressed the Duchess of York looks.

While speaking with New Idea, royal commentator Phil Dampier said that it’s evident that Ferguson is struggling. And even though she’s happy for Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie’s latest milestones, Prince Andrew’s scandal is still taking the most toll on her.

The Duke and Duchess of York have also spent several months together in lockdown and things must have been stressful for the exes. After all, Prince Andrew is still being accused of sexually abusing underage girls.

Dampier said that the ongoing accusations may have taken a toll on both Prince Andrew and Ferguson. And they haven’t found any means to blow off steam.

The royal commentator also said that Ferguson has visibly aged in the past year. And by the looks of it, she will age even more after she welcomes her first grandchild with Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.

Meanwhile, Prince Andrew and Ferguson also made headlines today amid revelations that they met through Princess Diana. In the documentary Fergie vs Diana: Royal Wives at War, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said that Princess Diana introduced the royals to each other at the Royal Ascot.

Queen Elizabeth asked the Princess of Wales if she wanted to bring anyone to the Royal Ascot and she immediately thought of Fergie.

Royal author Katie Nicholl said that the late royal thought of Fergie because she wanted to pair her up with Prince Andrew. Princess Diana also, reportedly, plotted to sit next to Prince Andrew so that he and Fergie could also be close to each other.

After the Royal Ascot, Prince Andrew asked Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom if she could bring Fergie along when they stay at Prince Charles’ country house. And this is where the Yorks became close to each other.

Prince Andrew and Ferguson ended up tying the knot. But just like Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage, their union was also short-lived.

Following their separation, Fergie made headlines after she was photographed with businessman John Bryan seemingly sucking her toes.

The photo made frontpage news and it, reportedly, shocked the royal family, especially Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth. Shortly after the scandal, the queen urged Prince Andrew and Ferguson to finalize their divorce.

Queen Elizabeth also asked Prince Charles and Princess Diana to do the same in 1997.
