Jaden Smith has a unique way of presenting himself to the world, and some of his fashion choices represent his emotions. For the sake of an instance, what the 22-year-old actor's outfit at Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s wedding showed how he felt about attending the nuptial ceremony.

One of the exclusive guests at Kim and Kanye's 2014 wedding in Italy, Jaden is a long time friend of Kylie Jenner’s, so it was hardly surprising to see The Karate Kid actor at the “I do’s.” While fans were not surprised to see him at the ceremony, Jaden managed to turn heads in another way during the ceremony.

KimYe tied the wedding knot back in May 2014, with Keeping Up With the Kardashians featuring the ceremony in multiple episodes. As expected, it had a wide array of guests, including André Leon Talley, NeNe Leakes, Serena Williams, and some other notable friends of the couple who attended their lavish prewedding dinner at the Palace Versailles, according to PopSugar.

The nuptials were graced by 200 guests, including the pair's celebrity friends. Explaining his unconventional fashion choice for the event, Smith told GQ Magazine that he thought the wedding required him to wear additional armor throughout the ceremony. He went on to reveal that he felt he needed to protect the guests, justifying his decision to wear a white Batman costume to the wedding.

Smith said he wore the costume to heighten his experience at the event and prom, adding that it was a lot of fun. He then explained how he decided to wear the white Batman costume to Kim and Kanye's wedding, saying he felt as though he needed to shield everyone there and that he needed the proper gear to do so.

Moreover, his unique fashion choice at the wedding allowed him to show respect to two of his style icons. He draws inspiration from the iconic superhero, as well as Superman, Nightwing, and Robin for his fashion looks. Smith then added that he is also inspired by West’s fashion sense.

Aside from being close friends with the Jenners, Smith has a solid relationship with West until he spoke about it during an interview with Complex in 2018. During the interview, Smith accused West and Drake of not wanting to work with him after he began to establish himself as an artist more.

Smith said he was being treated like Little Homie and was allowed in their circles until he appeared on the charts next to them. He said they were avoiding hanging out with him as if though they didn't know he was making an album, and he was just a Homie giving us free water. "You’re not really cool with us anymore," Smith said of how he was being treated by other artists.
