All this while, a surprise was in the making. In the wake of breaking multiple top Billboard records earlier this year during the pandemic through her collab with Justin Beiber and Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande seemingly went into hibernation. With JB, Ariana featured in the chart-topping "Stuck With You," and again with Gaga, she made "Rain On Me" – both of which went on to rule the charts.

However, It’s been quite long since Ariana has rolled out her own album. Not only that, but she has not been very active outside her profession either. The 28-year-old wasn’t ever spotted outside during the pandemic and showed close to no activity on her social media.

Though fans thought her favorite singer was taking a break from her always-packed schedule, the "Thank U, Next" singer has recently suggested that it was in fact otherwise.

Behind an inactive social media, Ariana was singing out her new album for her ever-hungry fans – who were eagerly biding their time for her make the announcement for her next project. So here it is – Ariana Grande in her recent tweet casually announced that she will be dropping a fresh album towards the end of this month. Christmas is definitely getting better.

The upcoming album which is dubbed "#AG6" will be Ariana’s sixth studio album following the mammothly successful  "Thank U, Next," which released more than a year back in February 2019.

Ariana’s latest and first studio album contained a string of hit songs in the form of "7 Rings," "Break Up With Your Girlfriend," "I’m Bored" and the title track. The gap between Ariana’s fourth album Sweetener and "Thank U, Next" wasn’t very wide, but this time it has definitely been a long pause.

Nothing else apart from the album release has been revealed by the singer, but there is a good likelihood that for her upcoming project she has collaborated with one of the industry icons. The expectation is based on the recent use of Mariah Carey's name with Ari in the media.

Tayla Parx, who has been one of Ariana’s close allies, gave a confirmation last month that Ariana’s sixth album was over.

In conversation with Business Insider, Tayla said, "The 'Thank U, Next' crew did get back together over quarantine — after like, five COVID tests, literally. We just kind of let it happen naturally, same way as the last album. I'm excited for her to tell you guys just more about where her head was at with this project, because it truly is incredible."
