HBO’s Big Little Lies has been one of its most successful mini-series, the first season of the show, which aired back in 2017 and was a major hit.

The opening season was only seven episodes long and had fans craving for more. Season 2 of ‘Big Little Lies’ was then scheduled to be released immediately.

Season 2 was launched back in July 2019, with the same major success as the first season, the producers of the series are keen to do another one.

According to Nicole Kidman, who played Celeste Wright in the series, plans for another season of ‘Big Little Lies’ is a strong possibility.

Sharing her insights on Marie Claire Australia, the actress revealed that she had contacted many of her costars asking them if they were on board for a new season of Big Little Lies.

Kidman shared that she texts and calls fellow Big Little Lies costar Reese Witherspoon at least once a week and they have already spoken about season three.

David E. Kelley, the producer of the show and Kidman, has already made some suggestions on what the new season will be like.

The two are very familiar with each other and have been working together in another series on HBO called ‘The Undoing.’

Big Little Lies follows a group of women with money in an upscale neighborhood in Malibu, California.

The first season was a roaring success and tackled the topic of domestic violence. Celeste Wright, who was married to Alexander Skarsgard’s character in the first season, was abused by her husband throughout their marriage.

The actress won an Emmy as the Best Leading Actress in a miniseries in 2017. The story also tries to empower women to support each other and speak up when they know someone being abused.

Although there are other themes that the show tackle, it mostly revolves around Celeste and her husband's story.

The ending of season one was a total cliffhanger. The end, which sees Celeste’s husband's death after one of the women pushed him down the stairs, has proven to be one of the most shocking scenes in the series.

Big Little Lies also boasts a myriad of Hollywood A-listers, such as Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, Zooey Kravitz, and Meryl Streep.

Kidman will also be working with the legendary actress Streep on another show on Netflix, a musical called ‘Prom.’
