After a crew member and a contestant tested positive for the coronavirus, it looked like this year’s Strictly Come Dancing production was in trouble. But now it seems that things are turning around for the show.

Metro reports that singer and YouTuber HRVY -- real name Harvey Cantwell -- has now come out as negative for the coronavirus. This comes a week after he revealed that he had tested for the coronavirus and had been put in quarantine.

Just as with his positive diagnosis, Cantwell announced he is COVID-free on Twitter. In the tweet, he said he is “a free elf” now and attached images of himself jumping in puddles as a way of celebrating. The singer and YouTuber also thanked his well-wishers.

The Daily Mail collated the reactions from fans, ranging from people congratulating him for getting well to those who joked that he might get sick with pneumonia if he persisted on playing in the rain.

For instance, one fan joked that Cantwell would “get worse” if he stood in the rain. Another remarked that he might get sick because of this photo shoot in the rain. Others said that they are happy for him and enjoined him to keep himself healthy.

It was only a week ago that Cantwell announced that he is positive for the coronavirus, saying that he is asymptomatic but has to endure quarantine as mandated by the health and safety protocols. The same health and safety protocols would have disqualified him from the show if he had tested positive again.

No other competitors have tested positive for the coronavirus. Aside from Cantwell, the other Strictly Come Dancing contestants include actress Caroline Quentin, reality television star Jamie Laing, and Olympian Nicola Adams.

Before Cantwell tested positive for the coronavirus, a crew member of Strictly Come Dancing had also tested positive. Upon the announcement, the BBC had to send home other crew working on the production and clean the set with electrostatic sprayers.

Aside from these setbacks, Strictly Come Dancing has had to make a number of adjustments because of the global coronavirus pandemic. The production has lowered the number of contestants participating in the new season as well as the number of episodes.

Even as the United Kingdom has started to reopen, the coronavirus pandemic has in no way stopped being an issue there. As of the latest update, there are now 562,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country. There are now 42,592 people that have died from COVID-19 in the United Kingdom.
