Prince Harry leaving his royal life for a brand new future with Meghan Markle has seen him sacrificing several aspects of his past. The royal who hold numerous honorary titles had to have them removed after it was decided that Harry and Meghan Markle were no longer working royals for the British Monarchy.

One of the biggest regret Prince Harry is said to have is him losing his honorary military title. The Duke of Sussex is a British Royal Army veteran and served in Afghanistan for 10 years.

Before leaving the royal accolade, Harry was rewarded the title Captain General of Royal Marines, the highest honorary military title the Prince was awarded with.

This military title was held by Prince Harry’s grandfather, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh until his retirement in 2017, which was then taken over by Prince Harry.

According to an announcement made today, Prince William, Harry’s older brother has been invited to take over the role of Captain General of Royal Marines.

Prince William is said to be keen to take the role and replace Prince Harry.

As part of the accord made during the Sandringham Summit, all of the honorary royal titles held by Prince Harry will be removed from him but will not be replaced with another royal after a year.

But the Marine Corps are already asking the Palace for a Captain-General as they have revealed that they need someone to step in as the highest-ranking officer in the Marines.

There has been no report as to Prince Harry’s reaction to this news, but this will relatively have a negative effect on the royal especially with the ongoing rift he has with his older brother.

Prince Harry has expressed in the past his feeling of regret of stepping down from his honorary military titles.

In a speech he made during the Mountbatten Music Festival in Royal Albert Hall, Prince Harry spoke on how he has no choice about his royal titles being removed from him.

This was also one of the aspects that devastated Harry upon stepping down with wife, Meghan Markle as senior royals.

Prince Harry’s love for the military and the royal corps is above his 10-year servitude with them. He was called Captain Windsor by his peers and through the army, the Prince was able to lead a somewhat normal life.

Prince William will most likely confer with Harry on this issue as this is a matter of their familial accord.
