Princess Anne, allegedly, told Queen Elizabeth that she should be next in line because she doesn’t want Camilla to come before her in the order of succession.

Since Camilla is married to Prince Charles, and the latter will eventually become king, the Duchess of Cornwall is expected to become a queen consort.

According to Woman’s Day, Princess Anne and Camilla still hate each other. And they’ve never, allegedly, resolved their issues, which started in the 1970s because they fell in love with the same person.

Now, Princess Royal is, allegedly, doing everything that she can to make Camilla’s life a living hell. And she’s trying to get the queen’s support.

“Anne has mounted a case with the queen to say she should be the next in line – a caretaker role until William is ready if you will. In her no-nonsense way, she feels that Charles and Camilla have made a mockery of their role since the day they began their affair behind Diana and the Queen’s backs, and it’s only gotten worse since they failed to manage Harry and Meghan’s departure,” the source said.

The insider also said that the only way for Princess Anne to pull the rank is if Prince Charles and Camilla are not around.

“As if stands already, Camilla is only senior to Anne when Charles is present – when he isn’t, Anne is permitted to pull rank. She sees no reason as to why that old protocol shouldn’t be taken a step further to preserve the monarchy’s reputation,” the source said.

According to the insider, the Duchess of Cornwall is aware that her sister-in-law doesn’t like her. After all, Princess Anne, allegedly, ices Camilla out whenever they’re at the same event.

“But attempting to take the crown from her husband is taking an old rivalry too far and you can expect her to fight back big time if need be. Anne might be tough but Camila is no pushover,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. Princess Anne and Camilla are not at odds with each other. And it’s not true that Princess Anne freezes Camilla out in public.

After all, photos of the in-laws at a previous royal engagement showed them laughing and gesturing to each other. According to body language expert Judi James, this proves that the two female royals as on good terms.
