The Daily Mail columnist Stephen Glover did not mince any words when he slammed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle over their announcement yesterday.

Deadline reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a letter to some of the most wide-read tabloids in the UK saying that they are severing their ties with them. It appears that the couple is fed up with how the tabloids would pull apart their lives for no reason, and print articles that are clickbait. From now on, they will be having zero engagement with the tabloids and any communication will be made through their lawyers, and only when it is absolutely necessary.

This move did not sit well with Glover, who called the statement pompous and said that the two were just doing to attract publicity. With all disturbing news being printed nowadays, Glover said, including the shortage of PPEs and death and suffering being reported day to day, such a statement is frivolous. The columnist further says that although he is not a fan of Meghan, he recognizes her as a smart individual. Therefore instead of declaring a permanent wall against the tabloids, she should be smart instead.

He cited Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall as someone Meghan can take lessons from. Camilla was not popular, what with people sympathizing with Diana the Princess of Wales. But over time she was able to repair the gap and enjoys a relatively peaceful relationship with the press. It seems that the couple does not understand just how important the press is at this time, especially in its role in democracy. Despite stepping down from their roles as senior members, the truth is, the two are still members of the royal family.

They have now moved to the US and officially started their transition kast April 1. They have finally been seen around the area, walking their two dogs but without their son Archie. They have also volunteered to bring food to the needy through the charity Project Angel Good. And just yesterday, Meghan Markle appeared in a pre-recorded interview for 'Good Morning America' to promote the documentary 'Elephant' where she lent her voice.

The couple seems to be keen on stepping away from the royal family, and Glover is hoping that someone can actually talk to Harry and let him see the errors of his decisions. But with the rest of the royal family in Britain and busy with their own duties, that seems highly unlikely.
