Meghan Markle and Prince Harry previously denied that they gave their inputs t the authors of Finding Freedom.

Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand also said that they never spoke to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. But according to Daily Mail, documents at the High Court prove otherwise.

It was revealed that in 2018, Prince Harry and Markle met up with Scobie and Durand after they became increasingly frustrated with the press coverage Markle was receiving.

During their meeting with Scobie and Durand, Prince Harry and Markle discussed ways of how they could help them write their biography. Shortly after, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly gave their friends consent to pass on information about them.

Some of the shocking revelations in Finding Freedom that only Prince Harry and Markle would’ve known include their birthing plans for Archie, Markle’s controversial scenes in Suits, as well as her feelings about Kate Middleton.

“Much of the information in the book could have originated only from [the duchess] and/or her husband themselves,” lawyers for Mail on Sunday said in their filing.

The lawyers also revealed that Markle told her communications team between November and December 2018 that her friends were assisting the authors.

If the claims are correct, this means that the authors of Finding Freedom, as well as the Sussexes, lied to their readers.

On his Twitter account, Scobie vehemently denied talking to Prince Harry and Markle for the book.

“Let’s make one thing clear: There’s a huge difference between exchanging a few words with a member of the Royal Family on an official engagement or tour to actually interviewing them. The amount of nonsense doing the rounds right now is unreal,” he wrote.

But several other authors and royal experts couldn’t help but wonder if Scobie’s claims are true. After all, most of the stories in Finding Freedom must have only been known by the Sussexes.

“The authors have some extraordinarily personal and private details about Harry and Meghan, but the couple has said they didn't speak to them directly and we have to take their word for it.  What seems absolutely clear, however, is that they colluded.  If not, they would have kicked up a huge fuss about this book,” royal author Penny Junor said.

Junor also said that Prince Harry and Markle must have wanted to get their side across that’s why they decided to secretly team up with Scobie and Durand.
