Idris Elba may have to wait to know if he will really be playing the next stunning spy James Bond, but one thing is sure as concrete - he is not running out of action sequences in his movies. In his upcoming movie, Elba will square off against the fiercest of all predators, a lion.

The film is titled 'Beast' and will be helmed by director Baltasar Kormakur. The filmmaker is famously known for being the brain behind 2015’s thrilling adventure ‘Everest’ and romance-adventure ‘Adrift’ in the year 2018. The action sequence won’t be shot like one of those typical Hollywood sci-fi or adventure-action movies. Instead, it’ will literally reach the heights. As per IMDb, Elba will be stalked by the blood-hungry lion in the forest of Mount Everest.

This will be a survival movie that loosely hints towards what the essence of the movie could be. Probably an avalanche of fearsome difficulties on the top of the actor while he tries to find his way out in one piece.

The project is based on Jaime Primak-Sullivan’s original idea with some tweaks and adjustments. He will serve as the Executive Producer of the project. On the other hand, the scripting has been done by Ryan Engle, who was one of the contributors for the Dwayne Johnson’s 2018’s monster action-comedy  ‘Rampage’.

As yet, nothing about the story has been revealed by the insiders – and it is expected to remain under wraps until the production starts.

Elba’s schedule is tightly packed with big projects. Elba’s last movie to hit cinema was  'Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw' under the banner of Universal. The 49-year old actor’s upcoming projects include – 'Concrete Cowboy' which has come out earlier this month on September 13 but is yet to go worldwide, 'The Suicide Squad' which is scheduled for 2021 and 'The Harder They Fall' which is tentatively set to be released in 2021. The dates are subject to change.

Meanwhile, Elba wants the BBC TV show 'Luther' to go big-screen. The actor said "I think we're headed towards, a film. I'm looking forward to making that happen. It is happening. Luther' has all the ingredients to echo those classic films of the 90s like 'Seven' and 'Along Came A Spider'.”

With all these projects already in line, it’s not wise to expect Elba’s lion fight to be available for fans anytime soon - but fans will have a constant supply of performances from Elba.
