The 23-year-old musical genius Yungblud took over the risk in combining two distinct and iconic pop tracks in the global music scene; Taylor Swift’s Cardigan and the 2002 Avril Lavigne classic I’m With You.

Yungblud graced the UK-based BB Radio 1’s Live Lounge for an acoustic performance of the mash-up uploaded on the radio station’s official Youtube channel on Sept. 29 (Tuesday).

As per Hollywood Life, despite the 18-year gap of the two tracks – Taylor released Cardigan in July 2020 from her Folklore album, while Avril dropped I’m With You in 2002 – the melancholy and sad tune of both songs resulted in a beautiful and mesmerizing finished product. Furthermore, Yungblud’s husky and rock vocals added and “x-factor” to his total performance.

Yungblud’s performance caught Taylor’s attention.

The prominent performance of Yungblud instantly made Taylor focus her eyes on the fact that her song beautifully collided with Avril’s major single.

The Look What You Made Me Do singer stormed over her personal Twitter account as he praises Yungblud for creating such a great musical arrangement that is one of its kind.

“WELL this took my breath away and I’m honored to hear Cardigan intertwined with the wonderful @AvrilLavigne’s masterpiece ‘I’m with you’. Bravo and thanks,” the American singer wrote. Taylor’s tweet did not let Yungblud miss his chance to interact with the pop superstar. The English singer made sure his response will go straight to Taylor. Yungblud responded a “thank you” tweet to Taylor for creating a beautiful song.

In a different tweet posted by Yungblud, he tagged Taylor and Avril as his “favourite girls.”

Aside from his performance of Taylor and Avril’s finest mash-up, Yungblud gave prominence to an account of his new song called Strawberry Lipstick, which he made known in July.

The singer’s engaging performances were the segment’s second to the last day of gracing famous artists on its stage for the month-long Live Lounge of BBC Radio 1. The radio station was already graced by Little Mix, Anne-Marie, Jorja Smith, Miley Cyrus, and more.

Furthermore, Yungblud will carry on his BBC stunt with his new podcast called The Yungblud Podcast, which will start streaming in October. The podcast will allow the young singer’s fans to communicate with their idols for a one-on-one interview.

Yungblud publicized his new BBC podcast on his Instagram Story the same day his full video performance at the BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge was uploaded. Fans can apply on the radio station’s official Sounds website.
