The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton and counterpart, Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle has been often compared to one another. The two royal wives have always been cordial with each other but it has been revealed that Kate was unsupportive of Meghan during her early days in the royal family.

Many believe that Kate nonchalantly not helping Meghan stemmed from a little bit of jealousy she had for the Duchess of Sussex. As many insiders revealed that Meghan was charming, strong-headed and had a zest for life that was quite different from Kate’s views.

Now it has been revealed that Meghan’s achievement before joining the royal family was a threat to the system of the firm and that Kate’s lack of real-world experience was a problem as well. The Duchesses were supposedly given two very opposing advice from the royal officials when they got married into the royal family.

Kate Middleton, who married Prince William, 2nd-in-line to the throne was given the advice to get a full-time job and have some sort of name of her own before marrying into royalty. It was said to be the Queen’s own advice that Kate carve her own name by joining a charity or getting a full-time job somewhere.

Kate Middleton then followed through the Queen’s advice regarding real-life experiences.

Meghan Markle on the other hand was given the opposite advice. According to royal insiders rather than displaying Meghan’s obvious achievement, it should be ‘toned down’.

Meghan who is an activist, philanthropist and an ex-actress who have had already made a name for herself but some of her beliefs were not in line with the royal institution, thus the Duchess of Sussex was made to keep quiet.

This despairing rule that was shouldered by Meghan was most likely one of the reasons why Prince Harry and her decided to exit the royal firm. Harry and Meghan walked away from their roles as senior royals last January 2020, making it official only two months after their announcement.

Many believe that it was the royal family’s discouragement of Meghan Markle that pushed the couple to exit the royal firm.

Both Harry and Meghan also felt unsupported by the royal family after they were attacked by the media in the UK. Meghan, especially was defamed by tabloids.

The Sussexes have continued living on with their lives as a private citizens in the United States.
