The darkness covers Tokyo’s landscape and Taichi and his friend are shocked to witness this latest development in Digimon Adventure Episode 16. The new installment is called The Jet-black Shadow Invades Tokyo.

As Taichi, Mimi, and Koshiro pass through a cave in order to meet Yamato and the others. When they exit, they see a landscape similar to their hometown – Tokyo, Wikimon tweeted the synopsis for Digimon Adventure Episode 16.

Taichi and friends are confused and happy about reaching home. However, there is something off about Tokyo this time. Later, the group members part ways to head back to their respective homes without noticing anything wrong with the city.

Meanwhile, Eyesmon, a Digimon with a lot of eyes, arrives and appears before the protagonists of the anime. They are unable to go home and have to deal with this new danger. Moreover, they are facing discomforting feelings.

Soon, a battle starts between Eyesmom and Taichi and his comrades.

In the meantime, the episode might unravel the mysterious darkness that has engulfed Tokyo. Can Taichi and the others deal with this new mess? “With creepy Digimon behind the scenes of Tokyo, Taichi’s team learns a shocking truth. Next time on Digimon Adventure: The Jet-black Shadow Invades Tokyo. The adventure continues to a new world,” reads the text from the teaser.

In the last episode of the series, Taichi states that the meeting with Yagami’s group is near. However, a big river poses an obstacle and they are unable to cross it. Later, Gomamon offers to help them.

As Sora and Taichi formulate plans for the team, Joe feels left out. He feels Taichi and Sora are in charge of everything and he means nothing. However, he is reminded that he is a leader too.

Watch Digimon Adventure Episode 16 online through live streaming mode on Crunchyroll. The installment is scheduled to broadcast on Saturday, Sept. 19. The live streaming is in Japanese with English subtitles.
