Kabwe Karyon hates the devil, but he knows that the country needs Asta’s help this time in Black Clover Episode 144. The episode is titled Those Wish for the Devil’s Demise.

The official preview trailer for Black Clover Episode 144 has been released teasing what happens next with Asta and the others in the anime series.

“Though I despise the devil, this country needs Asta’s help. Next time on Black Clover Episode 144, Those Who Wish For The Devil’s Demise. Someone is trying to disturb the balance we have in place,” reads the preview for the upcoming episode.

In the last episode, the Devil Banishers, a vigilante group that hunts the devil has abducted Nero and a little girl from the village.

Meanwhile, Asta remains in deep sleep. Noelle is worried and wants to know if he is alive. It is revealed that Asta is in deep sleep because of the potion by the Devil Banishers.

Elsewhere, at a town in the common realm named Nean, Gauche and other Black Bulls members continue to investigate the abduction of Marie. Gauche learns that a group called Devil Banishers took her away.

In the meantime, Noelle, Yami and others are piecing together the puzzle. Noelle that their spells weren’t that powerful in the first place. She feels that they did that so that other Black Bulls wouldn’t sense their mana.

Yami is angry that they destroyed the peace of the place and took one of his squad members. He adds that these masked perpetrators are testing his patience.

During the episode, Lord Julius wants Yami and others to see something important. Nozel appears and reveals that they are getting a signal from the bracelet-type communication magic item. Finally, they are able to track the perpetrators.

Black Clover Episode 144 is scheduled to telecast on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020. The episodes are currently streaming in Japanese with English subtitles.
