Queen Elizabeth, reportedly, lost millions amid the coronavirus pandemic.

After all, some sources of her income like the entrance fees to some of the palaces that she owns stopped. Guests aren’t allowed to go to crowded places amid fears that they could get hit by the deadly virus.

Now that things are slowly getting back to normal in the United Kingdom, Woman’s Day claimed that the queen and the royal family are thinking of other ways to earn some profit.

One of their ideas is to host a drive-in movie in Sandringham Estate.

“It’s no secret the royal purse has taken a hit during COVID-19 so this is a bid to drum up some money for the coffers,” the source said.

Upon arrival in Sandringham Estate, guests will be escorted to their spot. They will also, reportedly, have access to a pop-up bar with food and drinks. The cost of every movie is $60.

However, this amount will also include some donations to the Woodland Trust/Rainforest Alliance to offset carbon emissions.

Deadline was first to report about the queen’s drive-in movie venture, which is set to commence on September 25. Some of the movies lined up for the show include The Greatest Showman, Moana, Toy Story, and A Star Is Born.

However, the publication revealed that the cost for the drive-in movie is $40. And there will be an additional charge for those who wish to occupy a bigger parking space and enjoy a serving of popcorn.

Meanwhile, the queen and Prince Philip also made headlines this week after it was announced that they will be departing Balmoral Castle to return to England.

A spokesperson for the palace confirmed the news, saying, that the royal couple will be spending time privately on Sandringham Estate. However, their schedule is still subject to the finalization of the autumn program.

In October, the queen will, reportedly, return to Windsor, depending on all relevant guidelines and advice. She will also resume her use of Buckingham Palace for selected audiences and engagements.

The queen and Prince Philip have made a few appearances during the coronavirus pandemic. The last time that they were seen together in public was in June when Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi tied the knot in Windsor.
