Denise Richards announced her exit from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in the wake of rumors about her relationship with the show's cast member Brandi Glanville. While the controversy plagued the tenth season of the show didn't go too well for the Wild Things star, she still seems to have some sweet memories outside the show that she can look back at.

Richards was married to Sheen from 2002 to 2006, and in these four years, she discovered that the Hot Shots actor's house was teeming with unusual features. Richards, who stayed at Sheen’s house several times when they were dating, felt things were different when she moved in.

Richards' new memoir, The Real Girl Next Door suggests her first day as a permanent resident was "hilarious." After selling her house, and giving away all her furniture to her parents, Richards moved into Sheen's house, and much to her surprise, something seemed different.

Pulling into the driveway, carrying all her clothes, Richards recalls that she turned to her four dogs and said "Well, we’re home." The 49-year-old actress realized Sheen's home was different from what she was used to, adding that everything, including the kitchen, was black.

After tying the wedding knot, she decided to ignore the decor and deviate her focus to starting her new life. Despite everything in the house, including the marble floors, carpets and the kitchen is black, Richards said she made the transition easier.

A considerable number of the home's features were protection centric, given that the actor had concerns about safety, but Richards noted that some features were over the top. She described the home's features as "strange," but admitted that there were perks such as feeling safe inside the home.

She came across multiple strange features, such as the bulletproof bedroom door, Showbiz CheatSheet reported. Moreover, there was a firepole in the closet, which she recalls one of their cats fell through, for a quick escape to the ground floor.

As if that weren't enough, Sheen's house had a panic room too. Due to her right attitude, Richards said she saw these unusual features as perks, adding that she never felt safer when I slept.

Richards said people would ask her if she felt OK living in Sheen's house, while the actor thought she would not like living in a home that looked and felt like a busy bachelor pad. The only thing she wished the house had was more warmth, the actress wrote in her book.
