Kate Middleton and Prince William returned to Kensington Palace in time for Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s first day back at school.

Following their return, Star shared details about what the Cambridge’s house at Kensington Palace looks like.

A source said that calling Prince William and Middleton’s home a mansion is an understatement.

Apartment 1A, reportedly, houses four floors that feature a grand reception room, 20 other rooms, a massive kitchen, and more. Middleton, reportedly, had a second kitchen built inside the property.

“She had a second kitchen put in, which has become the real heart of the home. The kids’ artwork is on the fridge, and there are family photographs everywhere, many of which she took herself,” the source said.

The insider also revealed that the Duchess of Cambridge built an enormous playroom for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis at Kensington Palace.

“The playroom has storage for all the toys and modernized closets in his and her dressing rooms off the master bedroom. Kate has them close to each other so it’s easier to keep an eye on the children – and get the older ones ready for school in the morning,” the source said.

A friend close to Prince William and Middleton also described their home by saying that it has an easy country charm. And even though it is the current house of the future king and queen of Britain, it doesn’t feel formal.

Meanwhile, Prince William and Middleton also made headlines this week after DJ Clara Amfo shared what she saw when she visited the royal couple at Kensington Palace in 2018.

“Kensington Palace is a palace, it’s not even a house. It takes your breath away when you go in. They gave us lovely snacks, the snacks were fantastic, we were treated very, very well. There were beautiful pictures up of all the kids, William and Kate, Meghan and Harry. It was just a really beautiful family home… It is a very well-kept home!” she told Hello! magazine.

The Cambridges were forced to leave Kensington Palace in March and relocate to their former home at Anmer Hall because of the coronavirus pandemic. They stayed at Anmer Hall for five months before returning to Kensington Palace.
