Kelly Clarkson and American Idol have an incredible connection, having a history in between better than most contestant-show duo could ever make. Hands down, American Idol is one of the most popular and influential singing shows in the television history of the country.

American Idol aired 18 years back in the year 2002 with the first-ever season. Adol’s first season marked the inception of Kelly Clarkson’s magnificent musical career. Yes, it is so – Kelly Clarkson was crowned the victor in the first season of the show, and since then the artist hasn’t looked back.

Adol has spawned multiple megastars in the music industry, but Kelly Clarkson remains one of the most proficient artists who have showcased and put their talent to test on the show.

After Clarkson won the show that skyrocketed her career into the skies of fame and glory. Thanks to the incredible talent and tremendous popularity, it didn’t take her too long to establish herself as a mega pop star.

Technically, the date of the anniversary is September 3, but the pop icon is commemorating the occasion a day later. In an explanatory post on Twitter, Clarkson reflected on the finale of Adol’s first season.

In a tweet on September 4, Kelly wrote, "18 years ago today was the finale of the first season of American Idol and it changed my life! I’m still hustlin 18 years later because I know I am blessed to have the opportunities and I still love my purpose! Find your purpose! Seek out what keeps that fire in you burning."

A little dive into the meaning of her post suggests, she may have changed by the distance of two planets in terms of her career, but as a human being, she still remains what she was 18 years back.

The highlight of her tweet is that she is still hustling and asking her fans to do the same.

Clarkson has scored more than 100 number ones on the Billboard charts. In addition, the pop singer has sold over 25 million albums and 45 million singles all across the globe. That’s not all, she is also the first artist to top each of billboard pop, adult pop, adult contemporary, country, and dance charts which still remains an unparalleled feat.

Nowadays, Clarkson is hosting The Voice and her daytime chat show, The Kelly Clarkson Show. Kelly will the host of the evening for the upcoming Billboard Music Awards scheduled to take place on October 14.
