The reality behind the smile might be uncovered in One Piece Episode 940. Zoro is angry about the hysterical laughing after Tonoyasu’s execution.

The official preview trailer for One Piece Episode 940 has been released after the broadcast of Episode 939. The trailer teases the strange occurrence in Ebisu Town and Zoro is furious about it.

“Entrusting the Land of Wano’s future to the Straw Hats, Tonoyasu dies with a smile on his face! The people of Ebisu Town grieve but Zoro sees them laughing hysterically! When he learns the truth behind their smiles, he becomes furious! On the next episode of One Piece! Zoro’s Fury! The Truth About the Smile!” reads the preview for the upcoming episode.

In the last episode of One Piece, the news spreads like wildfire that Tonoyasu is facing his execution. Toko, Zoro and the others learn about his execution and Toko starts laughing maniacally. She reveals that Tonoyasu is her father. And they need to stop his execution.

Meanwhile, at the Flower Capital, people are grieving as Komurasaki’s funeral is about to begin. The people ask the guard where they are taking her. The guards tell them that she rebelled against Orochi and they will cremate her at the Prisoners’ Quarters in Rasetsu Town.

Elsewhere, Orochi is informed that as soon as he arrives that will execute Tonoyasu as an offering. Orochi knows that hearing him scream will heal the pain of losing Komurasaki a little bit.

Meanwhile, at Udon, the Queen wants to know about Tomurasaki’s location, and he is informed that they are still transporting her. Luffy learns about Tonoyasu’s execution. At the Prisoners’ Quarters, the guards are getting ready for the execution ceremony.
