A new picture of Kensington Palace was shared by Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton on Easter Sunday. The royal couple wished a Happy Easter to all and urged people to stay at their homes.

The annual traditional Easter service organized by the royal family had to be canceled because of the COVID-19 outbreak. However, William and Middleton have uploaded a new photograph of the Kensington Palace while celebrating Easter and practicing social distancing.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a picture of the grounds of the palace on their official Kensington Royal Instagram account. The lawn of the palace is filled with beautiful yellow daffodils in the photo, Independent reports.

The caption reads: “Wishing you all a safe and happy Easter.” The beautiful Easter message triggered a string of well-wishes from their followers. Prince William and Kate Middleton are adhering to what is expected of all people – to stay isolated. They reminded their followers to stay at home.

Meanwhile, a netizen questioned their post because the picture features the exterior of the Kensington Palace when the couple is not really living there now. The future king is currently residing in Norfolk with Middleton and their three kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are not the only members of the royal family who practiced social distancing this Easter. Their other family members also requested everyone to stay at home so that the spread of the coronavirus can be curbed.

Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwell wished a Happy Easter to their followers on their Clarence House Instagram account. The Prince of Wales and his wife said: “Wishing you all a very Happy Easter.” The couple added that Charles would be “reading the Gospel for Easter Day services” that was organized online.

William and Middleton are doing their best to ensure that the youngest people in the United Kingdom are in their best of spirits now, Elle reports. Last week, the Duke of Cambridge and his wife spoke to some students on a Zoom video call.

Typically the members of the British royal family members have a tradition to participate at an Easter service together. This annual event, though, had to be canceled because of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Last year, many prominent members of the royal family including Prince William, Kate Middleton, Princess Anne, and Prince Harry joined Queen Elizabeth for the yearly Easter service. However, Meghan Markle could not attend it as she was pregnant and was about to give birth to her son Archie.
