Katy Perry finally joins the Mom's club! The pop singer and songwriter welcome her first baby with her partner, Orlando Bloom. The 35-year-old singer first announced the news on Aug. 16 through UNICEF, who congratulated the couple for the bundle of joy arrived in their life.

"Welcome to the world, Daisy Dove Bloom! We are honored to introduce Goodwill Ambassadors @KatyPerry and Orlando Bloom's new bundle of joy," the United Nations Children's Fund organization wrote.

The agency posted a picture along with the caption that consists of a baby's little hand-holding parents’ fingers. Perry and her fiancé, Bloom shared a combined statement on UNICEF's Instagram regarding the arrival of the little baby.

The couple said that they are glad about the healthy and safe arrival of their daughter and on cloud nine at the moment. The pair admitted that most of the couples don't get to experience a smooth process of birthing as they had.

They consider themselves as lucky ones in that case. However, the duo addressed the issue regarding various communities that are facing a shortage of medical workers. The couple shared stats of pregnant women losing their lives or their newborns that passes away every 11 seconds due to a lack of proper healthcare facilities.

The ongoing pandemic has increased the risk because there are fewer medicines, soap, water, and vaccines available to prevent diseases. This is heartbreaking for the couple being new parents, the couple said that they empathize with the struggle those parents must be going through.

The ambassadors counted on UNICEF as they are working on a ground level to ensure that expecting mothers get quality healthcare and trained workers. The couple further announced the donation page they have set up in order to celebrate their daughter's arrival.

The couple encouraged everyone to support newborns to ensure that they kick start a safe life in this world. This is Perry and Bloom's first child while Bloom already shares a son with his ex-wife, Miranda Kerr.

The 35-year-old singer announced her pregnancy in March through Never Worn White music video. In an interview with Mikey Piff of SiriusXM, Perry revealed that it wasn't revealed in the music video by accident.

She admitted being grateful and she is able to check off her to-do list before taking a break for her pregnancy. The star has kept her fans updated regarding her pregnancy since the music video was released.
