Courteney Cox, who happens to be Jennifer Aniston’s best friend once mentioned that Brad Pitt made an unexpected confession before leaving her for Angelina Jolie. 

Pitt and Aniston spoke about their breakup in January 2005. At that time, both of them had denied that they were splitting because the Troy star was besotted with Angelina Jolie. 

Friends claim that the former couple had been facing marital issues for around a year before their split. According to them, the actual reason for their parting was their hectic work schedules, which practically made it unmanageable to “maintain intimacy.”

Many said that the exes also faced constant pressure to look like the ideal couple. In reality, they were like any other couple going through ups and downs in their relationship. 

An anonymous source who claimed to be a mutual friend of the former power couple insisted that it was Pitt who put a brake on having kids and not Aniston as many people would like to believe. 

When Jen had to reportedly go through her emotional struggles when Friends ended in 2004, she stated her husband who was then shooting for Mr. & Mrs. Smith was not there for her. The actor was not even present when the final episode of the sitcom was being filmed. 

Reports had it that it was Brad Pitt who took the final call to split though Jennifer Aniston had requested him to stay married. Jen had confessed in an interview that she wanted Pitt to continue with the marriage and try to resolve their problems. 

However, Cox, who was her co-star in Friends and is also her best friend said something, which added a different dimension to the cause of their separation. 

Although Pitt had repeatedly denied that he was involved with Jolie before the split, Cox mentioned that he warned Jen about his earnest feelings for the other actress. Cox told in an interview that Pitt and Jolie perhaps did not have any physical intimacy at that point of time but were attracted to one another. 

Cox further said the Fight Club actor and the Lara Croft actress felt a connection and the former was honest about his feelings with his then-wife. Many people hide when they are drawn to someone but Pitt was candid about it, Mirror.co.uk reports. 

It seems Pitt fought against the attraction for quite some time before he eventually gave in. Reports have it that Jen maintained a stoic silence after her marriage to Pitt crumbled.
