Katy Perry who is expecting a baby girl with her partner Orlando Bloom, wants her daughter to grow up in a magic life. The 35-year-old singer said in an interview with Rachel Smith that she wants her to raise her baby differently.

Perry celebrated her brand new album called Smile during the interview while she also took time to reveal a "different way" of raising her child compared to her own childhood. Smith was curious to know the meaning of raising the baby differently and Perry explained in detail.

The singer explained that she wants her daughter to discover things on her own, make choices, and also wear whatever she wants. "I am just excited to be able to raise her in a different way than what I was raised and to let her think for herself and have a choice and discover and just lean into the magic in life," she said.

The MTV Video Music Award winner said that raising her up like this is extremely important for her. Perry revealed that she was forbidden to dress up on Halloween or go for trick-or-treating. However, she admitted not stopping her daughter from anything like this.

Perry took birth in an extremely religious family. Her parents Larry Stevens Furtick and Holly Furtick had influenced her beliefs big time. Before One of the Boys singer succeeded as a pop star, her career began while performing in Church and later went into gospel music genre when she was a teenager.

Perry revealed that she is not only excited but also ready to support her daughter in every way possible. Given that, the pop star seemed to have enough being pregnant and now she is eagerly waiting to welcome the baby girl.

The singer joked and said that she isn't sure what will come first her baby, or her album named Smile that is set to release on Aug. 28. The singer also said that she is not sure if the baby wants to be the one closer by coming later or the opener in the headlines for coming before the album.

While the singer admitted that she is giving her best for the album and the baby, she is glad that her upcoming album didn't get delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The singer said she is grateful that her summer album is full of hope and joy, which is required in this difficult time.
