Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s progressive mentor Bernie Sanders has been on a mission to reimagine the systems of economy, environment, and justice. Sanders’ approach to inclusive development of Americans has garnered widespread attention and support throughout the nation. As obvious, AOC is also on the senator’s team.

In April, Sanders made an announcement that he was dropping his candidacy to run for office – he said, he would be on the ballot and continue the collection of delegates. Sanders also explained he chose to be on the ballot and collect delegates to push Joe Biden to follow more of progressive policies.

The New York Congresswoman came in Sanders' support, she said she the reimagination of immigration and foreign policies is instrumental to take the country away from the “xenophobia of the past” and the violence of every day.

The 30-year old added on to say the movement actually came as a realization of the wealth gap in the country that benefits only a few at the “expense of long term stability for many.”

AOC also emphasized the fact that Sanders’ movement for a better America is the way to an all-encompassing future and that Sanders had lost his second attempt towards the presidency for real reasons.

Sanders is one of the early proponents of taxing people based on their income. The senator has proposed a bill - according to which 60 percent of the wealth accumulated by ultra-rich during the pandemic will be taxed. The senator's way of pulling the country out of the crisis caused by the pandemic has been praised by economists, but the practicality is still under questions.

Citing the burning topics of the country such as George Floyd’s death in police custody and Trump’s mismanagement of the coronavirus, AOC said America needs “deep systemic solutions” more than ever before – in the crisis of mast eviction, unemployment, and lack of health care, a better system is all millions of people of America need.

Towards the end of her speech, Ocasio-Cortez formally expressed her support to Sanders saying, “I hereby second the nomination of senator Bernard Sanders of Vermont for president of the United States of America.”

This is a particularly decisive point for the future of Americans – a lot is going on, still, plenty remains unclear. However, AOC is true in that the country needs a systemic change to bring back the lives on the right track where there is a security of all kinds.
