The sports entertainment company, WWE is developing a shop at Amway Center in Orlando Florida. With the upcoming Summer Slam event on Sunday set to take place at the Amway Center, WWE has made it official that the company will be establishing a residency in the arena for a foreseeable future, which it has rechristened as WWE ThunderDome.

The establishment will be in use to hold Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and pay-per-views for better viewing experience for the audience. WWE’s move to develop a residency is actually led by the company’s long-going search of better arena features - with ThunderDome, WWE is achieving exactly what it has been looking for.

The unique selling proposition of ThunderDome would be its mammoth LED screen that would virtually allow fans into the arena to enjoy the live action of entertainment wrestling.

In conversation with Sports Illustrated, WWE’s executive vice president of television production, Kevin Dunn said that WWE is famous for its spectacle, but it was tough for the company to carry it on in the Performance Center. Dunn added on to say that with the advent of ThunderDome, “Opportunities are limitless.”

For fans who can ‘t wait for too long to experience the new setting, the good news is that the upcoming SmackDown event on Friday will take place in the newly structured arena.  The latest features that can add wonders to a WWE viewer’s experience include pyrotechnics, lasers, graphics, and drone cameras. New events are, for sure, going to be far different in experience from those taking place in the performance center.

Previous shows staged at the WWE Performance Center with no fans in attendance didn’t turn a lot of heads online. Clearly, the sports entertainment company was in need of a technological solution, and Amway Center may prove to be the final destination.

WWE's strategy to capture audience during the pandemic is the same as what is being followed by the NBA to keep its fans hooked to basketball matches as they sit at home waiting for things to get back to normal.

According to Dunn, WWE’s legacy has been phenomenal but what they are creating now with ThunderDome is going to be entirely next-level. The expectations must be high among fans and they are almost there.  Fans who want to experience the brand new viewing experience may register to be a part of the events on social websites and WWE's official website.
