The two pop stars, Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson, became an item in October 2019 after Cyrus' divorce with actor Liam Hemsworth and fleetingly dated reality TV star, Kaitlynn Carter. However, after ten months of dating, both have also called it quits.

As reported on E! News, Cody instigated the split on Thursday, (Aug. 13) just hours before Cyrus launch her first single from her fourth album, "Midnight Sky." Both were inseparable lovers, leading for reports to blurt out that Cyrus feels secure with Simpson. In July, sources told E! News that both were doing great together, and Simpson is treating Cyrus well, which makes it unclear what prompted their split.

On a report in Harpers Bazaar, Miley had confirmed the news in an Instagram Live. The video says that two halves cannot make a whole and independently work on themselves to become the person they want to be on their age, just like everybody else. She also said that regardless of their separation, she and Cody have been friends for a long time and will continue to be one. People might even see them hanging out in the next few days and hopes that there won't be a drama story out of it. At this point in their lives, they are just determining who they want to be and what they want to do.

As reported on Billboard, during Tiffany & Co Men's launching in October last year, Cody admits that his relationship with Miley is unique than the previous ones that he's had since they have been friends for ten years. He also added that his past girlfriends were sudden romances, and it's a unique experience to be with someone he has been friends for so long and naturally develops into something more.

Cody has always been open about his fondness of Miley and believes that she is a beautiful thing in his life. He thinks that she is creative, uplifting, fiercely independent, and would always motivate him to be his person. He also recalled how supportive they are with one another, even with work.

Miley's single "Midnight Sky" is believed to become an epic single because, as per her fans, she turns her pain into purpose. She also cryptically revealed that "Midnight Sky" is the road she is taking head high up in the clouds. The newly released record was hinted by Cyrus days before with a series of snippets the singer uploaded on Twitter and Instagram.
