Yet another celebrity has tested positive for the coronavirus, proving that the global coronavirus pandemic does not make any distinction between celebrities and normal people. The latest star to test positive for the virus is the 60-year-old actor, Antonio Banderas.

CNN reports that Banderas made the announcement on his Instagram account. Underneath a photo of himself as a baby, Banderas included a caption in Spanish that revealed his positive diagnosis.

According to the translation made by CNN, Banderas said that he would be celebrating his 60th birthday in quarantine due to testing positive to the coronavirus. The actor also assured his fans that other than feeling more exhausted than usual, he is feeling well despite the disease.

The Guardian adds that Banderas also announced that he would be using the time he will be spending in lockdown to not just recover but also to read and write and plan something meaningful for his 60th year.

The publication also speculated as to where Banderas would be spending his quarantine, as he owns homes in both Europe and the United States. Aside from a home in Spain, Banderas also has property in Surrey, England, and the United States.

Banderas joins the constantly growing list of celebrities that have tested positive for the coronavirus. One of the most recent ones to come out with a positive diagnosis is Bryan Cranston, who also revealed it on Instagram.

In the two-minute video Cranston posted, not only did he reveal his positive diagnosis, but he also showed himself donating plasma to the UCLA Blood and Platelet Center to aid in research for a vaccine for the coronavirus.

Bollywood royalty Amitabh Bachchan was also recently released from the hospital after testing positive for the coronavirus. His daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, was also released from the hospital after a positive coronavirus diagnosis. His son Abhishek Bachchan, however, is still confined after his positive diagnosis.

Aside from Cranston and the Bachchans, other celebrities that have tested positive for the coronavirus include singer Marianne Faithfull, reality star Todd Chrisley, television host Andy Cohen, news anchors George Stephanopoulos and Chris Cuomo, and actors Anna Camp, Rita Wilson, Olga Kurylenko, Ali Wentworth, Tom Hanks, Idris Elba, and Kristofer Hivju.

Banders will probably be not the last celebrity to test positive for the coronavirus as the global pandemic continues to rage. According to the Aug. 10 situation report of the World Health Organization, there are now 19,718,030 confirmed COVID-19 cases around the world. The total number of COVID-19 deaths worldwide is now at 728,013 people.
