The 36-year-old Avengers cast, Chris Hemsworth, best known for his iconic role as Thor, will be swimming with deadly sharks for National Geographic's Sharkfest. Hemsworth and National Geographic aim to dissect the sharks' co-existing level in everyday human life at sea.

Hemsworth will be heading out a special episode for the 2021 summer segment of National Geographic called 'Shark Beach.' The Avenger star will be interacting with sharks first hand and also with renowned marine biologists for consultation. Furthermore, the show will also grace several surfers, conservationists, and shark dedicate advocates from Australia to hand-in-hand help Hemsworth to figure out the real reasons behind the increasing number of shark attack incidents in Australia's waters, Hollywood Reporter finds.

In a statement by Hemsworth, he said that most of his time is near or in the ocean, making him go fifty-fifty with sharks. He added that what made him accept the once in a lifetime offer of National Geographic is the increasing number of tragic shark activities in Australia.

The actor urged all people on his statement that everyone should respect and allow the sharks to live as the oceans depend on the food chain cycle. As alpha predators from a distinct ecosystem, sharks play a vital role in marine life.

"...we must also learn how to protect ourselves, and that's my main objective in Shark Beach," he added.

According to The Indian Express, National Geographic aims to raise awareness of marine wildlife conservation as the show's production sees Hemsworth as the best façade of the program. As per Geoff Daniels of National Geographic, Hemsworth is nature's "fearless defender" that brings on the banner of his full commitment to conserving the sharks no matter what for the sake of the younger generations. Daniels also expressed his excitement for the show's collaboration with Hemsworth.

The Nutopia produced select show will allow Hemsworth to divulge and dive in with various species of sharks to study their behaviors. The dive will be joined by local biologists to help the actor venture out the shark and human confrontation protocols. Also, the show will feature advanced technologies purposely made to shield both humans and sharks.

Recently, Hemsworth has graced the sophisticating Netflix film entitled 'Extraction,' shot in Mumbai, India. Producers of the show have hinted the viewers for a sequel as the film ended in a questioning scene.

Meanwhile, the Australian actor will appear in the Todd Philips directed biopic entitled 'Hulk Hogan.'
