Keke Palmer revealed that she already knew the reason behind her show getting canceled. The actress appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where she spoke about What You Need To Know featuring Michael Strahan, Sara Haines & Palmer won't get aired.

The 26-year-old actress was a co-host on the ABC network show before it was axed in March. Cohen asked the actress about her daytime talk show came to an end, to which she replied, "Expected". She explained that the pandemic situation made her realized that the show will be pushed forward in the later months of the year.

"Our show is really about an audience. When you think about it, that's what we do. We do a little bit of news, but it's entertainment news. It's really fun conversations and lightheartedness. So it's a different time now, and some of the conversations have changed, and I think it pushed us out," she added.

Palmer clarified the rumors that circulated following her involvement in the Black Lives Matter movement. Fans wondered if her participation in the protest has anything to do with the network turned down the show renewal process.

Akeelah and the Bee star explained that the decision is not politically aligned but related to revenue generation. The morning show host explained that she never officially signed up for SSK because it was supposed to be a seasonal talk show.

The nature of the talk show is dynamic and she considered herself as a brand and not someone featuring in the series on a regular basis. Moreover, she clarified that she worked as a brand that collaborated with the ABC network.

Palmer took Instagram to spread the message and said that just because she is no longer part of the show, doesn't make the relationship with the network or co-hosts gloomy. In fact, she showed positivity towards the business relationship.

The actress acknowledged that talking about commerce seemed weird and technical to her. However, when there are negative comments going viral then she had to step in and speak. She admitted that speaking out has lost many jobs before but it is also important to address those moments when things haven't turned ugly.

Previously, the actress made headlines as one of her videos go viral on the internet. In the video, Palmer tried to convince during the ongoing protest to a Guardsman to come forward and march along with the activists.
