Meghan Markle is, allegedly, not looking forward to her birthday celebration next week.

According to OK! magazine, the Duchess of Sussex wants the low-key celebration to be over and done with. Markle turns 39 on August 4.

“Being unable to go out and socialize [because of the lockdown has made Meghan even tenser, and the people around her – including husband Prince Harry – are having a hard time snapping her back into feeling like her old self,” the source said.

Other than the ongoing scrutiny Markle has been receiving, the former royal also received a huge blow following the end of her friendship with Jessica Mulroney.

Following their alleged fallout, Markle will most likely not celebrate her birthday with her former best friend.

“Jessica was always the main person Meghan confided in during these low periods. Losing Jess has hit her hard,” the source said.

Despite the recent struggles in her life, Markle is, allegedly, open to having an intimate celebration.

“She’s willing to go along with an intimate get-together, but it’ll be a toned-down, somewhat subdued affair in comparison with what she’d ideally have liked. Put it this way – it’s a birthday Meghan’s keen to get over and done with,” the source said.

However, another source told Star that Markle is excited about her birthday celebration with Prince Harry and Archie. The Sussexes will, allegedly, have a swimming party with Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland.

“She’s talking about having a little pool party. If she does have anyone over, she’ll make sure they get tested for COVID-19 – she’s not taking any risks,” the source said.

While speaking with Entertainment Tonight, royal author Katie Nicholl also claimed to know how Markle will celebrate her 39th birthday. The royal author said that it’s been a really intensive time for the Sussexes so it’s possible that she will opt to celebrate with a change in scenery.

“It's been a very stressful time for Meghan, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if she does actually decide to just go on a road trip and have a change of scenery. I mean, they've been at the house that they're renting ever since early March now. They really haven't been out much at all. They haven't seen their friends. They're very much been in self-isolation and on lockdown, and it wouldn't surprise me if she just actually needs a change of scenery," she said.
