Happy endings may abound in Hollywood films, but that isn’t necessarily the case for the Hollywood stars themselves. Relationships end publicly for a lot of these celebrities, with the most recent one in the news being that of Tracy Morgan.

USA Today reports that the 51-year-old comedian and his 33-year-old wife, Megan Wollover, have released a statement that they are divorcing after being married for five years. Morgan also called for privacy for the two of them after describing the situation as “challenging for all involved.”

As recounted by the Associated Press, Morgan and Wollover married each other in 2015 after Morgan recovered from a 2014 car accident he was involved in. Morgan’s limo was rear-ended by a Walmart truck, resulting in serious injuries for Morgan and two of his companions.

Morgan says the prospect of attending his wedding either in a wheelchair or with a cane wasn’t something he wanted, which is why he tried his best during physical therapy. Wollover, for her part, said that almost losing Morgan the year prior made her grateful to be able to get married to him.

Morgan and Wollover have a seven-year-old daughter named Maven Sonae. Morgan also has three children with his previous wife, Sabina Morgan -- 28-year-old Tracy Morgan Jr., 32-year-old Malcolm Morgan, and 34-year-old Gitrid Morgan.

While it looks like Morgan and Wollover’s separation may be amicable, other couples have not had the same luck. The most recent and most contentious separation to grab the headlines has been that of Amber Heard and Johnny Depp. Both are now involved in a libel trial that Heard has described as “incredibly painful.”

Heard has characterized the trial as something which she did not want and a waste of British taxpayer money. The libel trial has forced Heard to head to the United Kingdom to testify as well as have intimate and salacious details of her relationship with Depp to be revealed. Even before the libel case, Depp and Heard had a contentious divorce that resulted in a $7 million settlement.

Another couple that recently had their marital woes broadcasted to the world is Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. After singer August Alsina revealed that she and Jada Pinkett Smith had an affair, the Smiths had to go on Red Table Talk to clear the air. Jada Pinkett Smith would go on to dismiss her affair with Alsina as an “entanglement.” Alsina, for his part, released a song titled Entanglements in response.
