While U.S. President Donal Trump carefully sanitizes his hands from time to time, he tends to forget handshakes are now banned and end up extending his hand. His family; however, seems to have taken social distancing in all seriousness.

Trump's daughter, Ivanka, who serves as a senior White House adviser runs a social media campaign showing how the United States can be #TogetherApart. Known for rarely making public statements, Melania Trump has appeared in PSAs recently.

The first lady of the United States took to her Twitter handle (@FLOTUS) on Sunday to tweet her second message in two days, promoting federal guidelines that urge people to wear masks or use face coverings amid the coronavirus pandemic, CNN Politics reported. Aside from that, she advised everyone to take social distancing seriously.

Melania shared a link to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's website, reminding her followers that COVID-19 is a virus that can infect anyone. While answering a question about the first lady's tweet at a coronavirus task force press briefing on Sunday, President Trump said, "It's good, no, she feels that way."

The PLOTUS explained that his wife supports the idea of wearing masks, just like a lot of other people in the country. Trump deemed her tweets as a mere recommendation and said that he is ok with it. He jokingly asked if they'd like to see him wear a mask to answer their question. "That would be a little awkward I guess,” he added.

Trump said that he would wear a mask if it thought it was important. He was then asked if his family in New York is considering to start wearing masks, and if he was encouraging them to wear them, Trump said he wouldn't be surprised.

On Friday, the first lady urged people to wear masks and take guidelines seriously, just after President Trump announced in a press briefing he was not going to wear a mask or a face covering, indicating the difference in the first couple's beliefs. The press briefings with the president and the coronavirus task force members are now been held daily in the White House.

During a press briefing on Friday, Trump revealed the new guidance from the CDC, urging people around the country to wear a cloth face covering when visiting public places in a bid to restrict the spread of the coronavirus. As part of a voluntary health measure, the CDC has advised Americans to use a nonmedical cloth face covering, Trump said, emphasizing that it was voluntary.
