Queen Elizabeth II's relationship with her grandchildren can be best described as mixed – some are affectionately close to her while a few others have found a different path to tread on. However, for Princess Beatrice, her one of only two role models is her grandmother who she adores for being formidable, loving, and caring.

Lately, Beatrice found a nice way to give a display of her love for her grandmother - in her wedding, Princess Beatrice wore the wedding gown that she borrowed from the queen.

After the initial postponement of May nuptials, the wedding was eventually set for July with arrangements to follow all the relevant government guidelines due to the pandemic.

Princess Beatrice tied the knot with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on July 17 in a private wedding ceremony held at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge in Windsor.

At the ceremony, Princess Beatrice wore Queen Mary Fringe Tiara which is nothing other than what the Queen herself wore at her own wedding around 70 years back. In addition, Beatrice also borrowed the queen's remodeled wedding dress.

According to the reports, the princess’s choice to go with the Queen’s vintage wedding dress was a decision taken out of blue. Beatrice wasn’t quite satisfied with the originally-chosen custom wedding tiara, so she ran straight to her grandmother to borrow her vintage dress. The Queen was deep touched by Beatrice’s innocent show of affection and she opened the closet for her granddaughter.

Onto the dress, Beatrice's gown was no ordinary piece of clothing – designed by Norman Hartnell, the dress is made out of Peau De Soie taffeta featuring organza sleeves, shiny ornamentation, and ivory Duchess satin at the borders.

To ensure proper fitting, the queen called out her trusted skilled fashion designing people, Angela Kelly and Stewart Parvin to remodel the dress according to princess Beatrice. Going by what they do for each other, it's certain that both love each other enormously.

Princess Beatrice has a great amount of reverenc for her grandmother. Undoubtedly, she is one of the queen’s closest grandchildren.

Highlighting the greatness of the queen, Beatrice once said: "I find my grandmother inspiring every day because her overwhelming sense of duty is linked with an overwhelming curiosity. Every day she's curious to learn something new, to do something new, and she goes out into the community with a genuine curiosity as to how she can be a force for good in the world."

Even though it was a pretty scaled back, Princess Beatrice's wedding ceremony still stands as one of a regal kind - majorly due to the uncommonly loving granddaughter-grandmother gesture.
