Swifties around the world are rejoicing as Taylor Swift, 30, announced the launch of her “surprise album” entitled Folklore. Taylor took on her personal Instagram account to break the shocking news. The post starts with Taylor writing, “folklore will have 16 songs on the standard edition…” Then, the actual deluxe editions of the album come with a bonus track titled the lakes. Taylor posted a series of photos announcing her new album, and as well as a mosaic image.

Per Taylor, she will be releasing eight deluxe CD editions and an additional eight deluxe vinyl editions inspired by the fact that this is her eighth studio album release. The albums will be made available for one week only. Each of the deluxe vinyl editions will feature unique covers, artworks, and photos.

All of Taylor’s Folklore album editions will be exclusively available at taylorswift on the midnight of July 24 following the Eastern Standard Time.

Folklore comes after Taylor’s 2019 Lover album release that includes hit tracks Me! and Cornelia StreetU.S.A. Today reported.

In one of Taylor’s post, she wrote that most of her plans for summer were canceled, but the album will never be. Her Folklore album is the singer’s life story of whims, fears, dreams, and meditation. The singer-songwriter has personally written the lyrics of the upcoming songs, with the help of his musical friends, to name such is Big Red Machine co-founder Aaron Dessner, who per Taylor has co-written and produced 11 songs of the album, Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, who will be featured in one of the track, and singer-songwriter Jack Antonoff.

This is the first time for the 30-year-old singer to drop an album surprisingly as she is always known to hint her beloved Swifties for months for an album drop. For Folklore, it only took for the artist ten minutes on Thursday morning to post nine various photos on her Instagram.

Hollywood Life describes Taylor’s released photos, the singer is in the middle of an isolated woods in black and white setup. Taylor strikes a relaxed pose standing behind the camera.

Moreover, Taylor’s big surprise doesn’t end there!

A music video for Folklore’s single will be released at the same time. The track is called Cardigan, shot during the surge of COVID-19 in the U.S. Taylor explained that the entire shoot was supervised by a medical expert, and the observation of proper standards: wearing of face mask and social distancing. Taylor added that due to the pandemic, she did her glam for the music video.
