Meghan Markle Not Backing Down From Fight With Queen Elizabeth, Royal Family
The royal family was criticized after Meghan Markle revealed that they didn’t protect her while she was pregnant with Archie.
According to Star, Markle’s revelation upset Queen Elizabeth. Her Majesty allegedly thinks that she did what she could to protect Prince Harry and Markle.
However, the public’s perception of the Duchess of Sussex is already beyond the queen’s control.
“The queen is incredibly angry and embarrassed by these revelations. She doesn’t take well to the royal family’s dirty laundry being aired,” the source said.
Markle is allegedly aware of the queen’s fury. However, the Suits alum doesn’t have any plans to back down from her fight.
“Meghan’s not backing down from this fight. She doesn’t feel she owes the royal family a thing,” the source said.
In return, the queen thinks that she already did what she could. And it was the Sussexes’ problem if the public didn’t like them.
“The queen’s done her utmost to protect her family, especially since Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, died in a 1997 car crash while being pursued by paparazzi. But it’s impossible to completely control how people view Meghan and what they say about her,” the source said.
Meghan Markle is allegedly trying to send the royal family the ultimate message with her second pregnancy.
However, one should take the claims made by the tabloid with a grain of salt. The queen has not publicly responded to Markle’s allegations. And by the looks of it, she never will.
After all, the queen has been living with the mantra of don’t complain and don’t explain. And this has been her practice throughout the past decades.
According to Newsweek, Markle’s claims that was unprotected by the palace was similar to what Princess Diana said before she passed away.
In the 1990s, Princess Diana spoke with Martin Bashir for Panorama to expose the dirt on the royal family. And according to the Princess of Wales’ former protection officer, Ken Wharfe, Princess Diana was always critical of the lack of support she got from the press office.
“One could argue that the advice that was given wasn't acceptable on her part. Ultimately of course she went alone and confided with Morton and Panorama in putting the news out herself because she felt she wasn't being represented and being supported. There is some similarity in that because Diana always felt her interests were not always served by the press office at Buckingham Palace,” he said.
