Better days for sure awaits Mariah Carey’s fans!

On July 14th, Tuesday, the 50-year-old diva Mariah Carey publicly announced her upcoming celebration of the 30th anniversary of her first-ever self-titled album.

The singer shares a montage on her social media accounts made up of short snippets from her music videos, album artwork, and live performances. The video captions, “MC30…Every Friday,” that plays along with Mariah’s remix of Fantasy with the iconic Ol’ Dirty Bastard in 1995.

The Always Be My Baby singer’s announcement came as a shock to her fans as she previously posted a statement about postponing her initial plans for the anniversary celebration to give way on the fight against injustice systems in the U.S. “As we continue to fight for equality and justice with our broken systems,” Mariah explained, about the death of George Floyd.

Further details of the upcoming celebration have not been released either by Mariah and her production team.

The video teaser comes after a week after the Grammy Awards winner announced her forthcoming second book release: a memoir entitled The Meaning of Mariah Carey. The memoir is co-written by fashion expert and writer Michaela Angela Davis. According to PEOPLE, The Meaning of Mariah Carey will be published under Andy Cohen’s new self-titled imprint. The book will be made available on September 29th.

The Meaning of Mariah Carey adds up to the list of books Mariah wrote, following after her children’s book release in 2015 entitled All I Want For Christmas Is You – inspired from her all-time Christmas anthem All I Want For Christmas Is You.

Meanwhile, Mariah’s soundtrack album for the 2001 musical drama, Glitter, is now available for streaming in various streaming platforms, two decades since its release.

Mariah Carey’s first-ever self-titled album is what made her who she is now. Per B.E.T., the said album is one of the singer’s “most critically successful releases.”

The album was launched in 1990, with four tracks that topped the no. 1 spot on the Billboard’s Hot 100, namely Someday, Vision of Love, I Don’t Wanna Cry, and Love Takes Time. The album itself reigned the Billboard 200 chart for eleven consecutive weeks. Also, the album was awarded a certified nine-times platinum award by the R.I.A.A. (Recording Industry Association of America).

Just last year, Mariah was named the first artist to have topped the no. 1 spot in four different decades. Mariah’s All I Want For Christmas Is You dominated song charts during the holiday season.
