Kanye West moves forward!

The 43-year-old rapper Kanye West, who previously announced his presidential candidacy on July 4, filed with the Federal Election Commission and is still considered an official candidate for the upcoming Presidential Elections.

According to Billboard, referencing the Associated Press report, the hip hop rapper qualified to run as Oklahoma’s candidate.

The confirmation news of West’s candidacy crushed the rumors of the rapper’s failure to comply with the needed paperwork for the nomination shortly after the story surfaced online.

In a statement by a mouthpiece for Oklahoma’s Board of Elections, West settled the $35,000 filing fee and met the deadline for his name to appear on the presidential ballot, along with two aspiring candidates: musician Jade Simmons and entrepreneur Brock Pierce.

Per New York Post, the No More Parties in LA singer was also able to file Form 1: Statement of Organization that allows the said candidate to register his campaign team. The submitted form reflects West’s campaign team as the Birthday Party.

However, West’s recent move is not enough to say he is an official candidate yet. The rapper is reported to have not filed Form 2: Statement of Candidacy yet, which validates that his campaign team has raised more than $5,000 in campaign events and activities.

West also failed the deadline to qualify his candidacy in several states. In a previous report, to fully qualify to be in the presidential race, one must collect several signatures and registration and submit it to all countries. In West’s case, that matter is a bit hopeless as some states already closed the deadline. One state that rejected West’s filing is Florida, New York Mag Intelligencer reported.

Having all these said, West’s candidacy is still blurry despite the rapper’s determination and optimism. West’s nomination doesn’t have a firm foundation that can serve as the rapper’s candidacy stability. On Tuesday, a report from the New York Magazine says that West first-handedly told election strategist Steve Kramer that he would no longer want to take part in the presidential race.

Since West’s confirmed his plans to run as president of the United States, many came to question the rapper’s objectives to the matter. Some say West is just trolling and wants to make a scene; however, some also say West is in full-fuel to take the position.

Additionally, West recently received a massive backlash when he seriously shared his plans in turning the White House into a Wakanda kingdom, from the Marvel’s Black Panther movie, if ever he wins.
