Meghan Markle was unable to bring her rescue dog, Bogart, back home in Los Angeles due to a hilarious reason.

According to The Sun, Bogart is still in Canada and Markle didn’t take the dog back because he doesn’t like Prince Harry. Markle’s other rescue dog, Bogart is living with her, Prince Harry, and Archie in Beverly Hills.

A source revealed that Markle wanted to bring Bogart back home but the decision was based entirely on the dog’s relationship with Prince Harry. The rescue dog, reportedly, never warmed up to Prince Harry when he visited Markle in Canada years ago.

“He didn’t like Harry. Meghan was very vocal about the fact it wouldn’t be fair to take him back full-time, given Bogart’s feelings for her husband. Of course, her staff in the UK who knew about her decision found her statement quite strange, but they accepted it at face value because Meghan knows her dogs,” the source said.

Shortly after Prince Harry and Markle tied the knot, they decided to adopt another rescue dog named Oz. The black Labrador is currently living with the couple’s other rescue dog, Guy.

Markle, reportedly, had a wonderful relationship with Guy and Bogart, who lived with her in Canada while she was filming Suits. Sources close to the Duchess of Sussex said Guy and Bogart used to sleep on Markle’s bed, and she treated them like her real babies. The rescue dogs also snacked on the most expensive organic food.

“She bought them Union Jack dog jumpers to keep them warm when they were puppies. She misses them when she is away and will even get someone to FaceTime her with them so she can talk to them,” the source said.

While speaking with Reader’s Digest years ago, Markle revealed that Bogart was her first rescue dog. Growing up, Markle said that she didn’t have dogs.

It was only when she became an adult that she visited a rescue center. While there, Markle saw Bogart and she was sitting with him when Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi walked in.

The comedian also shared details from the time she met Markle at the rescue center. She said that she encouraged her to adopt the dog that she was hanging out with.

Markle acknowledged the fact that it was DeGeneres who asked her to take Bogart home and so she did.
