Johnny Depp has sued The Sun after the magazine called him a “wife-beater.” Rather, the actor claims it was his ex-wife Amber Heard who had abused him when they were married.

However, Heard has denied her ex-spouse’s counterclaims. The Pirates of Caribbean star insisted that he felt “embarrassed”, as well as hurt when his former wife threw a TV remote at him.

The 57-year-old actor has sued the News Group Newspapers after they referred to him as a “wife-beater.” NGN also, allegedly, reported that the actor used to physically abuse his then-wife. Meanwhile, the Alice in Wonderland star states that these claims are not only “sick” but are also false.

The actor made a counter-claim that he never abused the Justice League actress when they were married. Instead, Johnny Depp alleged his former wife of hurting him with a cigarette and even threw a bottle of vodka, which injured his finger.

On the other hand, the 34-year-old actress has brushed off Depp’s claims. Kevin Murphy, the actor’s estate manager mentioned to the court that he was witness to an incident when the actress abused Depp.

He remembers one specific incident when the Aquaman actress injured her then-husband after she hit his face with a television remote. The estate manager recalls The Lone Ranger actor had injuries on his forehead after that incident.

Murphy said that he looked after the cleaning and maintenance of the actor’s properties. He recalls how the actor often told him about his actress wife physically abusing him. However, he had never come across such statements from Amber Heard.

The estate manager told the court that he had spent the maximum time with Depp and Heard as their employee. The employee said he never saw any kind of injuries such as bruises or cuts on the actress’s head, Mirror.co.uk reports.

Rather, he said that while Heard would often shout at Depp, the latter never retaliated. Murphy added he feels Heard has a volatile personality. The estate manager also said that the actress becomes an explosive person when she drinks.

Meanwhile, Kate James who was an employee of Heard from 2012 to 2015 also gave testimony in favor of Depp. The former employee recalls she had told her then employer how she was raped in Brazil around twenty-five years ago.

James mentioned that she was stunned to know when Heard misinterpreted the same incident in one of the witness statements and exploited it for her use, Hindustan Times reports.

Amber Heard has made fourteen allegations of violence by her husband Johnny Depp while they were together.
